So called ”Jungle" refugee camp on the outskirts of the French city of Calais on the weekend before the scheduled eviction. Many thousands of migrants and refugees are waiting in some cases for years in the port city in the hope of being able to cross the English Channel to Britain. French authorities announced that they will shortly evict the camp where currently up to up to 10,000 people live.
Das sogenannte ”Jungle” Fluechtlingscamp am Rande der franzoesischen Stadt Calais, am Wochenende vor der angesetzten Raeumung. Viele tausend Migranten und Fluechtlinge harren teilweise seit Jahren in der Hafenstadt aus in der Hoffnung den Aermelkanal nach Großbritannien ueberqueren zu koennen. Die franzoesischen Behoerden kuendigten an, dass sie das Camp, indem derzeit bis zu bis zu 10.000 Menschen leben Kürze raeumen werden.
