Start of the ongoing actions of the climate protection campaign "Ende Gelände" in the lignite mining area of North Rhine-Westphalia. In the morning, thousands of climate protection activists moved from the "Ende Gelände" protest camp in Viersen towards RWE's opencast lignite mine. Several hundred activists were able to block the tracks of the coal railway at RWE's power plant in Neurath.
Beginn der aktuellen Aktionen der Klimaschutz-Kampagne "Ende Gelände" im nordrhein-westfälischen Braunkohle-Revier. Am Morgen zogen tausende Klimaschutzaktivisten vom Ende Gelände Protestcamp in Viersen Richtung Tagebau. Mehrere hundert Aktivisten schafften es die Gleise der RWE-Kohlebahn am Kraftwerk Neurath zu blockieren.
