Some of the ropes attached to forest path blockades secure climbing activists - on signs they point out the danger to life when the ropes are removed. For about a year now, climate activists and environmentalists have occupied the Dannenröder Forst, which they call Danni. The forest should be used to continue the construction of the A49 freeway, which residents' initiatives have been protesting against since decades.

Durch den Wald soll die Autobahn A49 weitergebaut werden, wogegen Anwohnerinitiativen seit Jahrzehnten protestieren.
